[caption id="attachment_584" align="alignleft" width="196" caption=" "][/caption] We sure have been busy here lately on the farm!  Not only is it harvest time for a lot of our veggies, it's also time to plant cole crops, beets and carrots.  On top of that we've got our normal jobs and a fledgling business to run!  On the top of our list is Eat Real Fest this weekend at Jack London Square in Oakland. Thanks to the publicity we received from Daily Candy last Friday, we received all kinds of requests for home demonstrations, partnerships and even commercial space recommendations.  I can't believe how quickly my weekends booked up in the span of a day! All that attention comes as we hunker down in preparation for Eat Real Fest, which is this weekend.  In a lot of ways, Eat Real Fest is kind of like our "coming out" party.  It will be the first time we have a public face beyond the website and the home demos.  We're so excited.  We started placing orders for products over a month ago and have been receiving daily shipments for the past week.  We built the booth from re-purposed scraps with our bare hands, painted some beautiful cardboard signs with our logo and even hand-stamped some awesome t-shirts for our booth volunteers.  When I say "we", of course, I mean mostly my amazing friends so I'd like to give a shout-out to Lina, Terina and Adam!  You guys rock! [caption id="attachment_751" align="alignright" width="240" caption="Market Signs Notecard Set from Dahlias and Pears"][/caption] It's so fun to open the boxes and see the exciting things that are coming in for the festival.  Here's one of my favorites - handmade note cards from Dahlias and Pears in Atherton, CA.  They made four different sets specifically for FARMcurious, each with four designs inside the set.  The one in the picture has a market sign theme.  The others we have are bees, farm animals and a wine/cheese theme. I've been trying to think of a way to honor the people who have been following this website and have filled out my surveys at parties and I think I've come up with something.  Anyone who brings a secret code to the FARMcurious booth Eat Real Fest will receive a fun gift from us!  I can't tell you what the gift is, but we think you'll like it!  The code is: "RUSK IS MY CO-PILOT".  For those of you who don't know, Rusk is our favorite chicken.  She's so famous in our group of friends, that one of our friends even made a Facebook page for her.  Be sure to come by our booth this weekend with the code to receive your fun gift! In addition to Eat Real Fest, we've booked a booth at the SF Underground Market on September 11, 2010.  We'll have a class on keeping urban chickens in the morning and a booth all day.  We'll only be selling our food-related items at this market, such as cheesemaking kits and yogurt cultures but we're very excited to be a part of something so fresh and exciting.  If you want to attend, be sure to sign up at foragesf.com and come early because there tends to be a line!
