About Us

About FARMcurious

FARMcurious is a company designed to educate, inspire and equip urban homesteaders with an interest in producing their own food, reducing their ecological footprint and eating seasonally and sustainably without abandoning their urban lifestyles.

Urban homesteading means something different to everyone but the movement arose in part from the growing separation between people and the food we eat. FARMcurious hopes to encourage people to relearn the skills of home food production and preservation for the sake of life balance, health, eco-friendliness and flavor without having to completely abandon their urban lifestyle. By learning one step at a time, it’s easier than you might imagine!

Our Classes

FARMcurious teaches high-end culinary classes focused on traditional cooking skills such as cheesemaking, fermenting and charcuterie. Every now and again we do something out of the ordinary like mushroom cultivation, greywater installation or backyard chickens.

You can check out our publicly-offered classes on the Class Page or contact us to inquire about private team-building events or birthday parties, bachelorettes, etc. All private events can be customized to meet your needs and you can come to our space or we can come to you!

Our Location

We're a small business and work out of our home near the Oakland Zoo. Locals can call us to arrange local pickup of an item you see on our Online Store.

Follow-Along Virtual Events (FAVEs) are held online via Zoom. Check our calendar to see what's available.

Live in-person classes can be found at 825 Bancroft Way in Berkeley and in the Castro Valley Marketplace at 3295 Castro Valley Blvd in Castro Valley. Please confirm the exact location before showing up for a workshop!
