Did you know you can make your own vinegar at home and then turn it into a fancy-schmancy shrub cocktail (or mocktail)? Learn the science and techniques behind brewing your own vinegar and then infusing with fruit and sugar to create custom shrub syrups in this fun, hands-one class.
A shrub is an acidic mixture, sweetened with sugar and added to cocktails or soda water to make a refreshing beverage. Once you’ve made your own vinegar, it’s simple to turn it into some awesome shrub syrup personalized to your own tastes. Did we mention that unpasteurized vinegar is also very good for you?
We’ll have ingredients on hand to make multiple variations of tasty shrub syrups so you can try our suggestions or invent your own concoctions! You’ll go home with a baby shrub syrup to age and turn into beverage magnificence.

Location: This class is held at a home in upper Market/Castro at 1460 Clayton (near 17th). Address and directions will be sent to ticket holders a few days before the class. Public transportation is available via the 33 bus. Street parking is also available.
Cancellation Policy: Because our classes do tend to sell out we ask that you please give notice 48 hours advance if you are for some reason unable to make it to this class. With a 48-hour notice we will try to fill your spot. Because we buy supplies and ingredients in advance, this class is non-refundable. However, we will try to reach out to you if we have short-notice cancellations in future classes that you may be able to join.
