You’ve made all the jam, chutney and fruit leather you can stand and that tree in your backyard is still putting off buckets-full of plums! What to do? In this class we’ll show you how to turn that bounty into refreshing fruit wine. Learn to take just about any fruit (and lots of veggies too) and add the right amount of sugar, yeast and other goodies to create truly delicious wine. We’ll even show you how to take it one step further and turn some of that yummy plum wine (if you can part with any of it) and convert it into an extraordinary vinegar, better than any you could buy in a store. A two-for-one class!
We’ll talk about the process of fermentation, the importance of yeasts and the differences between them, sanitation, bottling and of course enjoying!
Supplies Required: None required but you’ll have the option to purchase a home wine-making kit at the end of the class, complete with a one-gallon fermenting jar, airlock, yeasts, etc.
Limit: 16 people
