That is a wonderful idea. Contrary to outdated stereotypes homemade fruit wines can be easy to make and delicious to drink. I make a variety of wines from local fruit, including orange, plum, and elderberry. My only rule is that the fruit must be free. Once the kit is paid for, the only cost of the wine is sweetner (I use a blend of honey and sugar) and a single packet of yeast. My friends and family love giving me in season fruit in return for a couple of bottles of wine!
